Hey guys! I have not updated you since Salt Lake City. Utah is truly one of the most beautiful states I have visited. We loved the city, the desert, the snow, and being surrounded by mountains. Our last night in Utah, we stayed in a Walmart parking lot. Thankfully, in the same parking lot was a Crumbl Cookies and Dutch Bros. I enjoyed getting dessert after making dinner in the van, and then the next morning grabbing a coffee to-go from Dutch Bros.
We decided last minute to visit Breckenridge. CO. This also ended up being our last destination before we journeyed our way back to Memphis, TN. Breckenridge is about a 7hr drive from Salt Lake City, so not too bad of a drive.
My absolute favorite morning was driving through the snowy mountains and drinking iced coffee. I loved this, and yes, I played Christmas music, while watching the snow fall in the month of May.

Breckenridge, CO in the month of May. Breckenridge feels like home. We have visited before and just fell in love with the ski town and all it has to offer. In the middle of May, we noticed the ski town was deserted. We did not have to wait or put our name in for a table at a Restaurant. We obviously love going the ski/snowboard months, but this was a nice change, and we could really focus on enjoying the town.

Our favorite restaurants in Breckenridge. We love Flip Side. It's a burger place with probably one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. We love it so much, we usually end up eating there twice when we visit. Another place we love is, Luigis. It's a little pizza place that has the best big thin crunchy pizzas I've ever tasted. It's also the perfect fuel after skiing/snowboarding all day. We tried the Blue Stag Saloon this time, it was recommended by a friend, and we did enjoy this little quaint Restaurant.
Crepes A La Cart is also another great option, however, there is no indoor seating. We have waited in the snow for over an hour and a half for a crepe. This little cart sits in on Main Street and it ALWAYS has a line. So we waited to see what the hype was about, and the crepes are delicious. I would wait again in the cold. It is a fun experience too.
A few breakfast and coffee places we have enjoyed is Breckfast, Cool River Coffee House, Coffee Depot, and my all time favorite, Gravity Haus.
Things to do in Breckenridge on the off season. There really is no off season. There is a two week off season and we happened to go in those two weeks. ha. In the summer they offer Mountain biking and in the winter they offer obviously skiing and snowboarding. The weekend we arrived, the ground was too wet/muddy to mountain bike, and the snow was too slushy to ski/snowboard. We found ourselves exploring and walking around downtown. We also walked to the Historic train station area which can lead you to see the Troll. It's a 15-foot tall wooden troll, located on the Trollstigen Trail. That would be something fun to do with little kids. We also played disc golf, and man, those views were awesome. We also scheduled an escape room to do one evening and that was so much fun. There are things to keep you busy. Maybe you would like to visit at this time to relax, take walks, and enjoy the scenery, especially when it is less busy.

Gravity Haus. Let me tell you about Gravity Haus. I LOVE this place. It is one of the coolest hotels I've stayed in. I love their coffee shop, their lounge/lobby area, the rooms are awesome, the staff and hospitality, the hot tubs, and the fact that they may be one of the only hotels that will let you take your skis/snowboards and store them in your hotel room. This saves you having to find a locker for your gear. The coffee is my absolute favorite and I am probably biased, but I don't care. Check it out for yourself. The location of Gravity Haus is also perfect. It sits at the bottom of Peak 9, and it walking distance from all the restaurants I named above. I can only say good things about this hotel.

We just love Breckenridge and I highly recommend visiting if you can. You will not regret it. Even if you do not love the snow sports, I think it is a great place to get away and feel like you're in a Hallmark movie. During the snowy months, you can walk in most places to see their fireplace burning. Grab a coffee, a good book, and enjoy time for yourself next to a fire. Sounds cozy, right? I can testify to tell you, it is.
