Why Do Adults Love Disney?

Alright, I promised you Disney blogs on Mondays and I have been a little busy lately, so I apologize I have not been as consistent as I had planned. I wanted to share why I, as an adult, love everything Disney!

I had the privilege to grow up with two older sisters, who were introduced to Disney movies in the early 90s. I feel like this is maybe all we watched as kids. The movies we grew up watching are now considered, "old disney movies," and they are classics! This may can be a reason why I love Disney, the feelings it brings back and the nostalgic memories. My three younger brothers also had "Their" movies. Carter loved The Jungle Book, Jack loved Monsters Inc, and Bens movie was....... Mary Poppins! HA! I love it. These were the movies that we related to them as they grew up. It's so sweet and brings back great memories.

I did not visit Disneyland or Walt Disney World until I was in my 20s. I was 24 when I visited Disneyland for the first time, and it was only for one day ( still so magical). I went to Walt Disney World for the first time in January 2021, when I was 26. This may be another reason why I love Disney. I had the opportunity to go as an adult, so I remember EVERYTHING about the parks. When you work, and have daily adult responsibilities, going to Walt Disney World takes away from "the real world." I am not telling you to run away from them, but enjoy a break where the outside world is cut off. With that being said, yes, it is fun to go and enjoy screaming on the rides, eat good food, and be reminded of your childhood.

Another reason I have grown to love Disney, is Walt Disney himself. I have enjoyed watching all the documentaries on what he wanted to create and how he became so successful. He wanted a place where kids AND the parents can have fun! I say, he accomplished that statement. The documentaries I have watched are on Disney Plus. Take some time to watch them before you visit Walt Disney World or Disneyland. You will appreciate the detail, purpose, and design he created for the Disney parks even more when you know history.

I also love the outfits and Mickey Ears. It's so fun for me to come up with cute ways to style your outfits, be comfortable, and trendy at the same time.

Now, I'm not trying to talk you into loving Disney, I am sharing why I do. My sisters and my mom still get giddy and excited about going, and I love it! The first attraction in Disneyland I ever rode was Space Mountain. And i'll tell you, I sat right next to my mom, who made me laugh the entire time. Once we got off the ride, she was jumping around saying, "Let's do that again!!! I feel like a kid again!!" How fun is that, but also so contagious? The adrenaline from the rides and seeing people happy, make you happy! How could I not want to go back? The memories I have made in Disney with my family and Robby's family, are memories to cherish forever. Everyone laughs, screams, and enjoys the experience all together. That is addicting.

So, naturally, after you experience Disney and want to go back immediately when you return home, is what we call, "The Disney Bug." And you never recover or heal from it. Sorry, not sorry! HAHA!

My entire family, even my 5 year old niece, withdraws from the Disney experience. I can't say it enough, it's just pure FUN!

The music, the classic movies, the smells, the rides, the adrenaline, the history, the characters, the shopping, a good corndog, Starbucks on Main Street USA, Walt himself and his dream, the parks that are immersive, Mickey Ears, the cute outfits, is why I love Disney as an adult.

I would love for you to share in the comments on Instagram, or on my website, why you love Disney! I hope this can help a few people out there understand why someone like me, a 27 year old, loves going to Walt Disney World and watching the classic movies. To make it even more exciting, I am going for my 28th birthday this year! I CAN'T WAIT.

Thank you, for taking the time to read!
