Hey guys, welcome to the Disney side of things in my life. Here's a quick back story on why I have grown to love Disney: I grew up watching Disney movies/Disney Channel because of my older sisters, who I look up to and love. They are a huge part of the addiction. The definition of a Disney addiction is - feeling like a kid again, thrill and happiness, and jumping on rides all day screaming and laughing. I love it. And that is some reasons why I have grown to love Disney, the parks, and the movies. It's all forget the craziness in our world and have fun! It's a get away.
Preparing for Disney World
My first ever time in Disney World was January 2021. I am no expert, but I do hope my tips can help you out. First off, Disney gift cards. You can buy them at Target, Walmart, Kroger, Sams Club, and Walgreens, etc. These are great gifts to ask for Christmas or a Birthday if you are planning a trip to Disney in the future. An example I like is that my sister will buy a $25 or a $50 gift card every time she gets paid for work, which is a great idea. It all begins to add up during the time of waiting for your trip. We usually use our Disney Gift Cards as spending money for merchandise or for food ( you can use Disney Gift Cards for food in the park). Another cool thing about Disney Gift cards, is that you can add all your gift cards to one card at disneygiftcard.com. So when you're in the parks you don't have to worry about keeping up with a bunch of gift cards. Cool, right?
Second, I would suggest to have your outfits planned and ready to go. Here's a few places I like to shop for merchandise, Amazon.com shopdisney.com Uniqlo.com joandcogoods.com
walmart.com target.com I mainly buy the basics I need on amazon. CRZ Yoga brand tops/leggings are Lululemon dupe items and they are perfect for the Disney Parks. I'll post my outfits in detail in another blog post ( coming soon). Have your outfits ready to go plus a rain jacket. It will be less stress when you are getting up early to get to the parks on time.
Another item I absolutely love having is my Patagonia bag. Robby wears a fanny pack. Fanny parks are the way to go. Both work great. I will link my Patagonia bag here -> https://www.patagonia.com/product/atom-sling-bag-8-liters/48262.html?dwvar_48262_color=TIDB
This bag is great. I pack my bag the night before I go to the parks. This is what I pack -> Portable charger, Ibuprofen, chewing gum, sun glasses, ID, Disney gift cards, nausea medicine ( yeah.. some rides make me feel sick HA) Chap stick, and glue for my eye lashes in case they fall off. I do wear fake eye lashes ( the natural ones from Target https://www.target.com/p/eylure-wispy-light-no-117-false-eyelashes/-/A-81909762?preselect=79632921#lnk=sametab) ....... I just like my eyes to pop in the photos I take. I can go over make up another blog post too.
Those are my main items. I do like to be packed and ready to go the night before, that way when you wake up, you get ready, and....go...no worries. You can also take your own snacks into the parks. I love that! This is funny to think about, but one of my favorite memories in Magic Kingdom was standing in line to ride Seven Dwarfs and eating gold fish while waiting. Random, but a funny memory to me. So you can pack snacks which is great.
Okay, so my sister and I are all about the feels and smells from a trip we want to remember, so we sometimes find a perfume we want to try, but wait until we go on a trip. This is not related to Disney, but it is something fun to prepare for as a happy item for yourself. It also gets you excited to use it on a trip and then later remember memories from a certain smell....are you guys like this? Maybe just us weirdos, but we love it. Okay, moving on... Disney Springs. I would prepare to go there the day you arrive in Orlando. Uniqlo, Zara, and the Disney Store are all there to find Disney outfits before you go to the parks. Now that's playing the last minute game, but hey, I found a few shirts in Uniqlo and it's super affordable. So I would suggest going to Disney Springs to look around before going to the parks. It's also a great place to eat.
I hope this helps you a little with preparing for a Disney trip. I may have more to add in the future of this blog if I have forgotten anything. These are just tips I have learned from my sister, Erin, and fortunately to going to the parks three different times last year. It was amazing! I just want everyone I know to go to Disney and have fun!!
